And there they're again, Earvin 'Magic' Johnson y Kareem Abdul-Jabbar over Staples Center's court, after winning a hard match against the great Celtics. Magic and Kareem are celebrating it just like they did on 1985 and 1987, after winning on the Boston Garden and under the Inglewood's flood lights.
What Magic and Kareem are saying to the MVP Kobe Bryant, the now historic Pau Gasol (twice NBA and 2006 FIBA World Champion) and all their fellow team members, who are repeating the 2009 victory, is as simple as this: 'Welcome to the club'. The exclusive LA Laker winner's club of players who have been the world champions after beating the Celtics: whith his fifth ring, Kobe Bryant, NBA Finals MVP.
The match was a 4 acts drama of three hours. Lakers bended Boston's green fist with 83-79 when they were loosing 36-49 with about 8 minutes for the end of the third 'act'. On the last act, a parcial score of 12-5 (with a Bryant's 7 points gift) kept the match from 56-59 yo 68-64.
Artest imposed the equalizer with an awsome score with a foul from Pierce. On 67 seconds, between 47 y 48 minute, four three pointers made the match to get crazy, three from Boston (Allen, Wallace, Rondo) and heavenly Artest for the Lakers.
All this madness was stopped by Vujacic's balcanic coldness who sealed the destiny de la final with two free shots, after Allen's foul.
It was EPIC!
I think that after all this madness Pau really need rest and a psychologist...
